During his talks with James Moran new European Union ambassador to Egypt, Industry and Foreign Trade Minister Mahmoud Eissa stressed the need to transform all European initiatives supporting Egyptian economy to projects and programs to serve the national economy and that this is to reflect positively on the Egyptian citizen. Eissa added that the European Union is regarded the most important trade partner for Egypt.
Eissa said that the talks dealt with the future of bilateral economic relations as well as means to boost joint investments by Egypt and European states, in addition to strategy of the European Union to help Arab Spring Countries. hrough a package of aid, Eissa stressed the need to form Egypt-Europe working groups to activate the European aid programs and attract more European investments to Egypt as well as increasing Egyptian exports to the European market. The two officials discussed as well topics connected to signing a free-trade agreement between Egypt and the European Union and liberalizing trade of services. In addition, they reviewed obstacles facing European exports to Egypt.
