Ganzouri Okays Development Projects in Aswan

Prime Minister Kamal el-Ganzouri approved on 05/04/2012 a number of development projects in Aswan in response to the governorate's needs. Ganzouri approved urgent financial allocations in the budget of the current fiscal year to carry out several projects in the governorate including water and sanitation projects, new housing units for youth, new sugar factory in addition to extra quantities of fuel and gas cylinders.

PM Ganzouri also approved building an alternative bridge over Aswan Reservoir at a total coast of EGP 650 million. He okayed EGP 49 million to complete sanitation projects. On the other hand, Ganzouri approved the construction of a sugar factory, allocating 60,000 feddans in Toshki for the people of Aswan, and putting the allocation 100,000 feddans for them on the Aswan hinterland.

The move came during a meeting held on Thursday between the premier and People's Assembly and Shura Council members for Aswan. Ministers of planning and international cooperation, local development, environment, irrigation, agriculture, transport and local development attended the meeting. Aswan governor and chairman of the General Authority for Investment also took part.
