Prime Minister Kamal al-Ganzouri reviewed, in a ministrial meeting, a planning-and-development strategy for the next 10 years. In a joint press conference on 10/4/2012 with Ministers of Environment and Antiquities, International Cooperation Minister Fayza Abul-Naga said that the National Rescue Government wants to introduce a vision for development for succeeding governments to contemplate the future.
This strategy is part of a comprehensive development plan to meet the expected population growth over the coming 40 years, Abul-Naga said. She said that the next government could benefit from Japan's success story in multiplying its national income. Of course, the future government can take, leave or amend those recommendations, the minister noted. Those are the recommendations of 30 Egyptian experts of various fields, with Tokyo only sharing lessons learned from the Japanese successful experiment after World War II, Abul-Naga said. She made it clear that the 10-year strategy includes projects to develop Sinai, turn the Gulf of Suez into a trade and logistic services zone and develop the northwestern coast and the Southern Valley.
