Signing Agreements on Employment, Water Projects in Sinai

Prime Minister Kamal el-Ganzouri witnessed on 26/04/2012 the signing of two agreements worth 3.4 million pounds between the Social Fund for Development (SFD) and the governorates of North and South Sinai to implement labor-intensive projects and sextend water networks to deprived areas. The agreements were signed as part of celebrations of Sinai Liberation Day, according to Ghada Wali, the SFD chief.

Under the first agreement which Ghali inked with North Sinai Governor Major General El-Sayed Abdel-Wahab, 21km-long water networks will be built in six different parts of the governorate. The fund will contribute to the project with 1.5 million pounds while the rest of the costs will be covered through local means, she said. The project will create 6,804 job opportunities, she added.

The second agreement signed with South Sinai Governor Major General Khaled Fouda accounts for the building of an 18km-long water network that will serve 56 parts of the governorate.
