Leather exports during the first four months of 2011 were put at L.E. 300 million marking 25% decline below their level during the same period of 2011. This was reported in the media quoting Mr. Hesham Gazar, Deputy Chairman of the Leather Export Council, attributing the development to declining export prices and indicating that it is almost impossible to predict leather exports volume in the second quarter. The executive revealed that leather exports in 2010 reached L.E. 1.3 billion and have declined in 2011 to L.E. 1.15 billion.
