Prime Minister Fayez Tarawneh discussed with Chairman of the Kuwaiti Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) Jassem Al-Badr, means of forging closer cooperation between the two countries in various fields. At the meeting, which was attended by the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Jordan Hamad Al Dueij, Tarawneh hailed the advanced level of relations between the two countries and peoples, voicing the Kingdom's appreciation of Kuwait's interest to invest in Jordan.
The prime minister highlighted economic challenges facing the Kingdom, adding they coincided with the regional situation that reflected negatively on tourism and remittances of Jordanian expatriates. "Jordanian exports and the transport movement were also affected by the current situation in Syria," he added. Tarawneh said that the government was frank with the parliament on its political and economic reform programs out of its respect to the legislative authority, noting that citizens have the right to know challenges facing the country. The premier was briefed by the agriculture minister and the Kuwaiti official on the agricultural memorandum of understanding that was signed today between the two counties. Al Badr hailed Jordanian-Kuwaiti ties, adding that Kuwaiti investments in the Kingdom stood at JD10 billion.
