Ways to expand tourism cooperation between Dubai and Lebanon were discussed by Director General of The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) Khalid Ahmed Bin Sulayem and Lebanese tourism minister Fadi Abboud who is leading a delegation of businessmen on a visit to the emirate. The two sides discussed plans for tourism joint projects, according to a press release by DTCM.
Bin Sulayem said Lebanon's participation in the annual Arab Travel Market promotes relations with the emirate. The number of tourists from the UAE to Lebanon constantly grows. Dubai is a favorite destination for Lebanese tourists, DTCM's press release cited the Lebanese minister as saying. In 2011, the number of Lebanese guests at Dubai's hotels went up to 91000 up by 10% year-on-year. In the first quarter of the current year, the number went up by 2% over the same period last year. |
