Ambassador Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Jarman, UAE Permanent Representative to United Nations presented his credentials to Gladys Bejerano, Vice-president of the Republic of Cuba, as non-resident ambassador of the UAE to Cuba. During the meeting, Al Jarman conveyed greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Cuban President Raul Castro. He also stressed UAE's keenness to promote and develop relations with Cuba in various fields, especially investment, economic and trade fields as well as enhancing cultural relations. For her part, the Vice-President of Cuba welcomed Al Jarman wishing him success in his assignments. She also reciprocated greetings of the Cuban leadership expressing her thanks to the UAE's continued support in the international fora.
The meeting discussed ways to develop cooperation relations between the two countries for mutual benefit of the people of two countries. UAE ambassador also met with a number of senior officials including Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz as well as representatives of a number of institutions. They discussed with them ways to develop bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields. |
