Prime Minister Fayez Tarawneh stressed Jordan's keenness to forge closer ties with Kuwaiti in various domains for the interest of both countries. At a meeting with Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development Abdul wahab Ahmad Al-Bader, Tarawneh said the Kingdom was also determined to attract more investments and create a proper investment climate in the country. Jordan, he said, is also keen to lure in more Kuwaiti investments, the largest Arab investments in the country. Talks during the meeting covered means of further boosting trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Al-Bader said the fund was keen to enhance cooperation with Jordan, noting that Kuwait had received projects presented by Jordan to benefit from a grant that was approved by leaders of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries recently. He added that a team will visit the Kingdom to examine the best means to finance these projects. During the meeting, which was attended by Finance Minister Suleiman Al Hafez and the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Jordan Hamad Al Dueij, the prime minister was briefed on talks held by Al-Bader with the finance minister on mechanisms to utilize the Gulf grant to Jordan, and with the minister of planning and international cooperation on possibilities of benefiting from the fund to establish a natural gas terminal in Aqaba. Tarawneh was also briefed on the JD37.5 million grant agreement that was signed by the government and the Kuwaiti fund to finance the third expansion project of Al Samra Power Generation Station.
