UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nuhyyan on 3/7/2012 underlined his country’s keenness to boosting relations with Egypt. The relations binding the UAE and Egypt are solid, and there is a genuine desire to develop them for the best interests of the two nations, the foreign minister said in the first official UAE response following the exchange of criticism between Dubai Police Chief Dahi Khalfan and Secretary General of the Muslim Brotherhood Mahmoud Ghozlan.
The top diplomat further said that he is optimistic that the Presidency of Mohammed Morsy would witness concrete achievements in joint relations. He hailed Morsy’s speech in Cairo University for being including firm rules for the Egyptian foreign policy topped with Egypt’s commitment to the Arab security.
