The Egyptian Exchange closed this week with losses amounting to EGP 8.2 billion despite gains achieved in the last three sessions but were not enough to cover up the losses of the first two days caused by the "parliament crisis". During the course of this week, the benchmark index EGX 30 retreated 2.72 percent down to 4,815 points, said a weekly report issued by the Egyptian Exchange. The broader EGX 70 index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) fell 2.45 percent to 428 points. The all-embracing EGX 100 index followed suit with 2.16 percent taking the index down to 735 points.
