Industry and Foreign Trade Minister Mahmoud Eissa has issued a decree to form a council for developing local industries. The new council will target raising national awareness of the importance of local industrialization to national economy and upgrading industrial and engineering institutions in the fields of designing and manufacturing production lines and equipment, added Eissa. The Minister pointed out that the new council's term will be three years and will have to convene at least once a month. He also said the council will provide a database on capabilities of the national industry as well as providing another database on imports of engineering products, equipment, machines and promotion for industrial projects that will develop and upgrade the national industry.
