The Egyptian-US Fund has allocated USD 8 million in grants for joint research and finance activities of exchange for young researchers. Moreover, an amount of nearly USD 2 million of this funding has been allocated to support innovation programs and promote cooperation between research centers and industrial entities according to the American expertise in this area, within the framework of renewal of scientific and technological cooperation agreement between the two countries until 2015.
Minister of Scientific Research Dr. Nadia Zakhary stressed the importance of research collaboration and innovation, pointing out that this year will focus on innovation and how to take advantage of the creative energies of the Egyptians and American sciences to provide solutions to the market, particularly in how science contributes to economic growth. |
