Bilateral foreign trade volume between Egypt and Italy in 2011 was put at $ 5.7 billion representing 6.4% of Egypt's foreign trade volume with the world. This was announced by the Italian Ambassador to Egypt indicating that the figure included $ 2.7 billion exports from Egypt to Italy marking 20.8 growth above their level in 2010. Figures drove Italy to maintain its post as Egypt's largest trade partner after the US. Major exports to Italy involve crude oil, fabrics and agricultural produce, while major imports from Italy include machinery and equipment, metallic products, petroleum production and refining installations and electric appliances.
