The Governments of the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bhutan signed a joined communique on the establishment of diplomatic ties at the level of ambassadors with effect in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of April 18, 1961.
UAE was represented by Ahmed Al-Jarman Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of UAE to the United Nations, while the Kingdom of Bhutan was represented by Lhatu Wangchuk Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bhutan to the United Nations. The full text of the communique: JOINT COMMUNIQUE ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS BETWEEN THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES AND THE KINGDOM OF BHUTAN. The Governments of the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bhutan: Guided by their mutual willingness to promote mutual understanding and strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic, social, humanitarian, cultural and scientific areas based upon the principles and purposes of the United Nations Charter and the norms of international law; Respecting the principles of equality among States, national sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and non-interference in the internal affairs of other States; Have decided to establish diplomatic relations in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of April 18, 1961, as of the date of the signing of this Joint Communique. In witness thereof, the undersigned Plenipotentiaries, duly authorized by their respective Governments, have signed in duplicate this Joint Communique in Arabic and English. |
