Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash met with Argentinean Minister of Foreign Relations Hector Marcos Timerman. They discussed ways to enhance ties of friendship, as well as cooperation in the fields of peaceful nuclear energy, investment, mineral and food resources. The meeting also touched on current developments in the Middle East.
Dr Gargash thanked the Argentinean Minister for his country's strong stand on the issue of UAE's occupied islands of Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb and Abu Musa. The two sides stressed the importance of further strengthening relations and the mutual interest in signing a number of agreements during the visit to be made by President Cristina Fernandez of Argentina to the UAE. The meeting was attended by a number of officials from the foreign ministries of both countries.
