UAE-Belarusian Economic Relations Discussed

Economic, trade and investment relations between the UAE and Belarus are poised for more development based on their willingness to create opportunities and promising venues of cooperation, according to the Minister of Economy Sultan Saeed Al Mansouri.

In remarks at a meeting with Belarusian ambassador Alexander Simishko, Al Mansouri said his Ministry works on promoting relations and opening new venues of cooperation with other countries to serve the national economy and the process of development toward a knowledge-based economy.

Emirati companies invested US$6.3 million in 2011 in Belarus which received a total of US$4 billion of foreign direct investments in the same year, according to ambassador Simishko. The UAE and Belarus recently celebrated twenty years of diplomatic relations, he noted.
