The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) made gains of 15.25 billion pounds in the first week of 2013, posting a four-percent rise comparing to the week earlier. The EGX 30 benchmark index was up by 5.85 percent to close at 5,734 points.
The broader EGX 70 index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) increased by 3.94 percent to hit 498 points. The all-embracing EGX 100 index followed suit with 4.28 percent, taking the index up to 835 points. |
