Nahyan Receives Moroccan Minister of Agriculture

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, UAE University Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Khalifa International Date Palm Award, received at his palace today the Moroccan Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Aziz Akhenouch. The Moroccan Ambassador to the UAE, Mohammed Ayat Wa Ali, attended the meeting.

Sheikh Nahyan welcomed the visiting minister and his accompanying delegation. The visit aims at reviewing the UAE achievements in palm dates cultivation, production and industries. He affirmed that the UAE under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan follows the same approach and policy of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, which aims at expanding agriculture acreage and encouraging broader cultivation of date palm trees and other strategic crops.

For his part, the Moroccan minister hailed the efforts that the UAE exerts in the field of reproducing seedlings of the date palm trees, pointing to the importance of the Khalifa International Date Palm Award and its role in boosting cooperation avenues and coordination between the two countries.
