His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces met today with King Abdullah II of Jordan. Sheikh Mohamed conveyed greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to King Abdullah II and his wishes of further progress and prosperity for the people of Jordan.
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister attended the meeting. King Abdullah welcomed the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and his accompanying delegation, stressing that the visit reflects the strong fraternal relations between the two countries and embodies the two sides' keenness to continue joint consultation and coordination for the benefit of the two countries and peoples. The meeting also discussed the brotherly ties and prospects of joint cooperation as well as ways of boosting them. They discussed the latest situation on the Syrian arena and ways of achieving peace in the Middle East, based on the two-states solution. King of Jordan expressed his appreciation for the strong and historic relations between the two countries, hailing the UAE's stances under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan in support of Jordan in all circumstances, particularly pertaining the burdens borne due to the increasing number of the Syrian refugees in Jordan, whose number reached to about half a million. For his part, Sheikh Mohamed expressed his appreciation for the efforts of King Abdullah II in maintaining security and stability in the region, stressing the strong UAE-Jordan bonds and the keenness to enhancing them for the interest of the two sisterly countries. In attendance at the meeting were, Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority and Under-Secretary of the Crown Prince's Court, Mohammad Mubarak Al Mazroui from the UAE side and Dr. Fayez Tarawneh, Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Nasser Judeh from the Jordanian side. |
