Bilateral Cooperation between UAE and Singapore

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister, discussed with Singapore's Foreign Minister K. Shanmugam, bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation in all fields of mutual interest between the two countries. During the meeting, which was held at the Ministry, the two ministers exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments, as well as a number of issues of common interest.

At the outset of the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah welcomed Singapore's Foreign Minister, referring to the development of bilateral relations between the UAE and Singapore, and the keenness of the two countries to push them toward new horizons.

He stressed the UAE's keenness on enhancing the prospects of cooperation with Singapore, and the importance of strengthening and promoting economic relations, and promoting joint investments between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade, investment and renewable energy.

For his part, the Singaporean Foreign Minister said that the existing friendly relations between Singapore and the United Arab Emirates is a model of a strategic partnership established through constructive cooperation in all fields for the common interest of the two countries and the two peoples.

At the end of the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah and the Foreign Minister signed a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of a joint committee for cooperation between the two countries. The memorandum aims to promote closer ties of friendship and development of bilateral relations in various fields on the basis of achieving mutual benefits of common goals between the two parties.
