Egyptian FM Visits Algeria to Attend Meetings

The spokesman for the Foreign Ministry said that Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr is due to start a visit to Algeria later on 27/6/2013 to hold important talks with his Algerian counterpart Mourad Medelci and a number of senior officials there.

The talks are part of constant coordination between Egypt and Algeria, said the spokesman. Amr-Medelci talks will focus on means of promoting bilateral relations in different fields for the best interests of both countries, the spokesman said.

The two ministers will chair a meeting of the Follow-Up Committee concerned with reviewing all vistas of bilateral ties and the steps taken so far to implement the recommendations of the previous committee meetings, he said.

The spokesman said Amr will attend a meeting of the African Peace and Security Council, to be held at the ministerial level on Saturday 29/6/2013.

The meeting is expected to issue a statement that will be presented to an upcoming African summit in Addis Ababa next January, he said.
