Jordanian Monarch Meets Qatar's Foreign Minister

King Abdullah II of Jordan met with Qatar's Foreign Minister HE Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed Al-Attiyah. At the outset of the meeting, HE Dr. Al-Attiyah conveyed the greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to the King of Jordan.

For his part, King Abdullah II asked HE the Foreign Minister to convey his greetings to HH the Emir and his best wishes to the Qatari people.

During the meeting, King Abdullah stressed his keenness to forge closer ties with Qatar and build on these in various fields to the interest of both the peoples. HE Al-Attiyah lauded the strong ties between the two countries, adding that Qatar has always been keen to have closer ties with Jordan in all fields.

Qatar is also keen to maintain coordination and consultations with Jordan on the developments in the region. Talks during the meeting also dealt with the latest developments in the region, mainly the Syrian crisis, efforts to bring about peace in the region as well as other issues of common concern.

The meeting was attended by Jordan's Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh and HE Qatari Ambassador to Jordan Zayed bin Said Al-Khayareen.
