A limited fire broke out on 22/10/2013 in one of the power transformers of the High Dam, said press spokesman of the Ministry of Electricity Aktham Abul Ela.
He stated that the fire caused a technical failure to the transformer, adding that it was contained by workers at the dam's power plant with no casualties reported. Technical teams are now exchanging the broken transformer, he said. He clarified that all power stations of the High Dam operate efficiently, except the one gutted by the fire. |
