U.A.E. Ambassador to Morocco, Al Asri Saeed Al Dhaheri, has launched the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Ramadan iftar campaign for Morocco for 2014, a charity initiative sponsored by His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of U.A.E. Armed Forces.
Mr. Al Dhaheri said the campaign, with a budget of more than US$2 million, will benefit more than 23000 families in different Moroccan regions in coordination with Moroccan charities. He re-affirmed that U.A.E. is interested in enhancing cooperation with Morocco in order to fulfill the aspirations of the leaders of both countries. The Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed iftar campaign, an initiative in the spirit of fraternity and friendship, comes in the context of the outstanding relations between U.A.E. and Morocco, in the social and humanitarian spheres in particular, noted the U.A.E. Ambassador who launched the campaign in a special ceremony in the presence of the Wali (governor) of Rabat-Sale-Zemmour-Zaer Region, Abdelouafi Laftit, diplomats, heads of beneficiary Moroccan charities and representatives of the media. Ambassador Al Dhaheri further noted that the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed iftar campaign is in line with the national human development initiative launched by HRH King Mohammed VI of Morocco as well as with all social and humanitarian initiatives sponsored by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity to provide support to underprivileged citizens. |
