The Cabinet approved in principle a new bill that gives the priority to locally-produced products in government purchases, Minister of Trade and Industry Mounir Fakhry Abdel-Nour said on 05/09/2014.
The bill which was approved on Wednesday will be discussed during a meeting of the economic ministerial group in preparation for new discussions by the Cabinet, the minister said. The bill aims at improving the balance of trade, saving hard currency and encouraging local industry as well as investors to pump more investments in industry projects, Abdel-Nour added. |
