Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab reviewed on 22/9/2014 finance and monetary indicators and measures taken by Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) to regulate exchange market and provide foreign currency.
This came during the Cabinet Economic Group meeting in which Mahlab thanked CBE governor and all banks’ employees for their great efforts during the sale of New Suez Canal project investment certificates. In the meantime, the group discussed a number of draft laws, including preference of Egyptian industrial products in governmental deals. Also, Trade and Industry Minister Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour said that the bill would attract investors to do business in the industrial sector that would provide more job opportunities. The meeting also tackled a bill concerning regulating rice trade, including exporting Egyptian rice during the 2014-2015 season, or allowing the export of one million tons till September 1, 2015, whichever comes first. Meanwhile, the committee approved raising these bills to the cabinet. The meeting grouped ministers of planning, trade, petroleum, finance and international cooperation and the CBE governor. |
