President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi has stressed the importance of going ahead in the different spheres of cooperation between Egypt and the Russian Federation.
The President refers to the significance of the time element for Egypt, which is willing to join the march of development and progress with the aim of fulfilling the aspirations of the Egyptian people. This came during the President's meeting with the Deputy Russian Prime Minister Arkady Vladimirovich Dvorkovich, which was attended by ,the Minister of Trade and Industry Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour, the Deputy Russian Ministers of Agriculture and Energy and the Russian Ambassador in Cairo. Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Alaa Youssef said the President is keen to develop relations with Russia in all fields, including the establishment of silos for storing grains as it facilitates the exportation of grains to Africa. Youssef added that this provides a way for the transit and facilitating the Russian trade to both the Sudan and Ethiopia as both countries represent a promising and big market for investment and joint work . The President said that Egypt is looking forward to rehabilitating the factories which were established in Egypt by the former Soviet Union . The Deputy Russian PM said that the remarkable growth of trade exchange between Egypt and Russia and the increased inflow of the Russian tourists into Egypt confirm the fact that the future of relations will be more prosperous. Dvorkovich said that his country has high hopes that the planned visit to Egypt by Russian President Vladmir Putin will bring about positive results that conform to the depth of relations as the Russian side is drafting many cooperation agreements which will be signed during the visit. He underlined that he is presiding over a delegation representing the biggest Russian companies to get acquainted with available investment and trade prospects in Egypt with the aim of intensifying economic, commercial and investment cooperation. In this context, Dvorkovich said that Russia is looking forward to the establishment of a free trade zone between Egypt and the Euro-Asian Customs Union which includes Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus . |
