Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held talks with his Albanian counterpart Ditmir Bushati.
During the get-together, the two top diplomats discussed ways of developing relations in all fields as well as the latest developments at the regional level. Bushati expressed his country's condemnation of the recurrent attacks in North Sinai, stressing Albania's support for Egypt in the anti-terror war, Spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Badr Abdel Aati said. Albania supports Egypt in its endeavors to gain a non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council for the 2016-2017 term, the Albanian foreign minister said. He also lauded efforts exerted by the Egyptian Partnership Agency for Development to hold training sessions for Albanian government employees. Also, Bushati said he looks forward to boosting relations between the parliaments of the two states. Shoukry, meanwhile, thanked Albania for its support and expressed Cairo's keenness to bolster ties with Albania in all fields, especially at the commercial and economic levels. He also stressed the importance of holding a new session over political issues between the two states. Efforts to wipe out extremist and terrorist thoughts were probed as well during the get-together. At the end of the meeting, the two top diplomats signed a memorandum of understanding over customs cooperation between the two states. |
