On the sidelines of his participation in Munich Security Conference in Berlin, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with his Romanian counterpart Bogdan Aurescu.
Talks dealt with means of boosting ties between the two countries in the various fields. The Romanian foreign minister requested to meet with his Egyptian counterpart with the aim of reactivating communication and political deliberation between the two countries, Spokesman Badr Abdel Aati said. "Egypt is Romania's biggest partner in the region. We appreciate the major Egyptian role to achieve regional stability," he quoted the Romanian official as saying. He said that the Romanian top diplomat extended invitation to Shoukry to visit Bucharest in the coming months to discuss boosting bilateral ties. For his part, Shoukry reviewed the current political and economic developments in Egypt as well as the ongoing preparations to hold the parliamentary elections. He also reviewed Egypt's preparations to hold the economic conference in Sharm el-Sheikh on 13-15 March. |
