European Union Ambassador to Kuwait Adam Kulach said that bilateral trade between the EU and GCC has reached an estimated EUR 150 billion annually, including exports worth USD 100 billion from Europe and USD 50 billion from the Gulf.
In a statement to reporters on the sidelines of the joint EU-Kuwait opening exhibition here at the Room Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ambassador Kulach highlighted the importance of organizing this occasion, which he said to inform investors and Kuwaiti citizens on potential investment, trade, and tourism opportunities in Europe. The ambassador added the 28 EU countries all have deep relations with Kuwait and are interested in the establishment and development of such relations due to Kuwaiti investments in most of these countries. For his part, Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry Member Dhrar Al Ghanim said that the joint exhibition is being hosted for the first time in Kuwait, and it is the result of fruitful cooperation between the room and the European Union commission representatives in Kuwait. Al-Ghanim added the exhibition goal is to increase bilateral cooperation and trade exchange between the two sides, and maximize the volume of investments by investors through keeping them informed on the most important investment opportunities, including informing citizens on touristic, recreational, and educational venues in Europe. The Kuwaiti official explained that Kuwaiti investments in EU countries are big and is full of investment opportunities. The exhibition is a joint cooperation between the EU Commission and Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and will be featuring 10 European countries for investment opportunities and tourist attractions. |
