Representatives of the political components left Sana’a on Sunday to partake in Geneva consultations which will be kicked off, sponsored by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon.
In a statement to Saba, they stressed the importance of the issue to stop the Saudi aggression on Yemen as well as lifting the embargo imposed on the country. In this respect, Secretary General of the General People’s Congress (GPC) Arif Azzoka said that “we are going to Geneva for the sake of our people who suffer from the barbaric shelling and the unjust siege.” For his part, Ansarullah representative Hamzah Al-Houthi affirmed that this participation in the consultations comes in response to a call by the UN for the Yemeni political components without preconditions in order to revive the political process and find out solutions for the crisis of the country. For his part, representative of the Arab Socialist Pa’ath Party Mohammed Al-Zubairi affirmed that one of the most important things to be achieved in these consultations is to stop the aggression, and stirring the Saudi file and deliberating over it. The Secretary General of the Yemeni Socialist Party Abdul-Rahman Al-Saqqaf affirmed that the key points to talk about are stopping the war and lifting this embargo. Representative of the Southern Movement Ghalib Mutliq pointed out to the significance to end the war and to deliver the humanitarian and medical aid to the affected people, hoping to reach an urgent and just solution for the southern case. |
