A delegation from the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) on 30/07/2015 hailed the Egyptian New Suez Canal project as a message to the whole world that 'Egypt is stable and safe'.
The delegation, headed by Secretary General Peter Hinchliffe, made the remarks during a meeting with Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab and Minister of Transport Hany Dahi. During the meeting, they said Egypt is moving on the right track with an unexpected pace to development. The ICS officials have started an official visit to Egypt take a closer look at mega projects announced by the government including the New Suez Canal and the reclamation of four million acres of land. The officials expressed admiration of the new waterway, which would have positive impact on the world trade and maritime traffic, spokesman for the cabinet Hosam Qawish said. Mahlab asserted to the ICC's delegation that the new canal is a new success story along with many other accomplished missions in the sectors of electricity, housing and roads. The stability in Egypt means stability of the whole region and the world, Mahlab said. He added that new projects would be announced during the inauguration ceremony planned for August 6. The new projects are part of a development plan of the Suez Canal area, the spokesman added. |
