Kuwaiti Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Hamad Al-Duaij handed over a collection of donations of USD 1.1 million to two charitable organizations supporting the Syrian refugees.
The donations came from the Social Reform Society with USD 543,000, Al-Najat Charitable Society USD 563,000 and Revival of Islamic Heritage Society USD 73,000. The donations were given to Jordan's Al-Rahma Charity, an affiliate of Social Reform Society and Al-Takaful Charity. The Ambassador stressed to KUNA that the Kuwaiti leadership always supports humanitarian causes worldwide, especially refugee-hosted countries. He pointed out that philanthropic activities should continue, expressing Kuwaiti embassy's readiness to facilitate the process. The two Charities expressed appreciation for receiving this generous donation, pointing out that the money will be used to hold a collective marriage ceremony of 20 couples, to hold a hand-made product exhibition, to support orphanages, to provide in-kind aid, to support education and school supplies for students. More USD 558,000 will be allocated to help refugees. |
