Economic Ministerial Meeting Chaired by Egypt’s Prime Minister

Engineer Sherif Ismail, chairman of the Council of Ministers convened a meeting of the economic ministerial group, in the presence of the governor of the central bank and discussed a number of topics, including proposals for the revitalization of trade movement, ways to rationalize the import of maize and the problems facing the production and marketing of nitrogenous fertilizers.

At the beginning of the meeting the President of the Council of Ministers called to the citizens to encourage the local product, including help to support the Egyptian economy and the promotion of national industry, rationalizing imports.

As the President of the Council of Ministers during the meeting commissioned by the Ministers of Industry and Trade, Agriculture, to discuss the problems facing the producers of nitrogenous fertilizers, as a prelude to the proposals for solutions to the Council of Ministers at its next meeting.

During the meeting, the Minister of Planning and the procedures mentioned the establishment of a company one and a half million feddans, with total private capital to 8 billion pounds, distributed to the New Urban Communities Authority, and of agricultural development, Treasury of the State, the value of the contribution of the State in the digging of wells.

On his part, the minister of agriculture and comprehensive report included proposals for ways to rationalize the import of maize, through the expansion of cultivated by about half a million acres, lead in the first year to provide about 400 million dollars of imports, and increase of the total production to about one million and 750 thousand tons. In this context, the Chairman of the council of ministers will submit a comprehensive study of the agricultural cycle and the circulation of the product.

With regard to the proposals for the revitalization of the commercial movement in the city of Port , the president of the Council of Ministers held an extended meeting with the members of the Chamber of Commerce and the Governor, to discuss all the proposals made in this regard, which include the development of the industrial area, the development of the Fishing system, the adoption of a plan for training and rehabilitation of the sons of Port Said.
