Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabil underlined the important role of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in serving the development goals for its members especially developing countries.
The minister's remarks came during his speech delivered at the general session of the 10th ministerial conference of the WTO held in the Kenyan capital Nairobi. The minister said that a great number of the developing countries import foodstuffs the matter which increases the suffering of their people due to the high prices of these products, thus a multi-lateral agreement should be inked to solve this problem. Qabil reviewed the economic and political developments Egypt witnessed during the past two years, including the mega projects being carried out in the country. He pointed to the political stability Egypt has been witnessing after the end of the third phase of the roadmap. |
