President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said that Egypt is looking forward to promoting cooperation with the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) and explore more programs and projects that can be funded by the bank in Egypt, especially in the fields of agriculture, renewable energy and infrastructure.
Egypt is giving special interest to funding small and medium enterprises to provide jobs to the youths and encourage them on innovation, the president said during a meeting with a delegation of senior executives of the AfDB. Egypt appreciates the bank's role in funding development projects in the different sectors to contribute to boosting the national economy and raising the standard of living, Sisi said according to presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef. He praised the AfDB's confidence in Egypt and agreeing to grant it a soft loan to support its economic program, the spokesman said. The delegation, meanwhile, commended serious economic reform measures taken by the government to attain high growth rates and attract more investments. |
