Engineer Sherif Ismail, chairman of the Council of Ministers, met a delegation comprising a number of Arab ministers of agriculture from Kuwait, Somalia, Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan, Jordan, in the presence of Dr. Essam Fayad, Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Rafik Saleh, director of the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD).
At the beginning of the meeting the prime minister welcomed the delegation members and wish them success in their participation in the meetings of the General Assembly of the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) , to be held today in Cairo, and witnessing the broad participation of the Arab ministers of agriculture, and representatives of international organizations and institutions, to discuss the challenges facing the Arab region in agricultural development, countering the adverse effects of climate change. Ambassador Hussam Alkawesh the official spokesman for the presidency of the Council of Ministers, stated that the President of the Council of Ministers expressed his aspiration to achieve stability in the Arab region and the return of the development and construction, confirming that the topics and programs which are being discussed between the Arab ministers of agriculture plays a pivotal role in bridging the food gap in the region. The prime minister also noted the importance of the joint action between the Arab states to invest many opportunities for cooperation and to implement non-traditional solutions to implementation of large-scale, as well as continue to conduct studies for devising new strains and implementation of those studies on the ground, and the application of more areas for economic cooperation between those countries and rapidly and integrated in the agricultural sectors. On their part, the Arab ministers of agriculture thank the Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture, on what they felt of hospitality during their visit to Egypt, confirming that the meetings of the General Assembly of the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD), scheduled to witness the discussion of a number of files to the regions in arid and semi-arid zones, and discussed strengthening agricultural cooperation and exchange of experiences with respect to the grain planting fruit trees and crops and drought control between Arab countries, as well as expansion of animal production, which bears the nature of dryland areas, through the utilization of the center's experts and researchers and practical experience. |
