President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his South Korean counterpart Park Geun-hye attended the signing ceremony of nine agreements on joint cooperation in several fields including higher education, justice, industry, trade, railways and upgrading ports.
The signing ceremony was held after a summit meeting between the two presidents. The agreements on joint cooperation include a framework agreement regulating loans extended by South Korea to Egypt. The two sides signed another agreement on upgrading traffic signals. An agreement also was signed for setting up an Egyptian-Korean college for technology. A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was also signed on cooperation in the higher education domain. Another MOU was signed between the Egyptian Justice Ministry and its South Korean counterpart. A third MOU was also signed on cooperation in the fields of trade and industry. The two sides signed another memorandum for promoting Alexandria port. Meanwhile, the two sides signed an agreement on a loan to be extended to the Egyptian railways authority along with another memorandum on extending a funding package to Egypt at a value of three billion dollars. |
