PM Sherif Ismail held a meeting with the Ministerial Committee on Economic, in the presence of the governor of the Central Bank, and ministers of planning, logistics, electricity, finance, investment, tourism, trade and industry.
Ambassador Hussam Al Kawesh said that within the framework of work on achieving growth rates and increase target export competitiveness, in the face of some of the challenges of global down international growth rates as well as the decline in commodity prices. The committee agreed to the special program to support exports, which will be applied beside the programs currently in force, to be additional support by 50% of exports in the case to achieve the target increase by 25% The exporting companies in chemical industries, food, engineering, textiles, and will be the implementation of this program of the first march for the year. Ambassador Hossam said that this decision will contribute to increase the value of exports at 2.5 billion dollars in the sectors of chemical industries, food, engineering, textiles, allowing reflected positively on the increase of investments directed to those sectors, and provides more new job opportunities for youth. In the framework of the keenness of the government to provide the requirements for agricultural production for all farmers, especially small-scale farmers assigned amounts appropriate prices, the Committee had agreed on policies for the provision of nitrogenous fertilizers to meet the requirements of the production sector and export, these include policies to maintain the quantities needed by the Ministry of Agriculture to provide the needs of farmers from fertilizers, in addition to the treatment of the companies that supply natural gas linked to the price of fertilizers, with the review and evaluation of the situation every 6 months in the light of the changes occurring in the market. On the other hand, in the framework of the search for the production of electric energy for the operations of the various development from all sources, the Committee approved the ministerial economic organization for the development and utilization of new and renewable sources of energy and the availability of plots of land allocated to it under usufruct system, for the company so that power English, for technical studies for the establishment of the production of electricity from wind power capacity of 250 megawatts to the construction and operation and acquisitions (BOO) in the Gulf of Suez area. |
