The Fifth International Maritime Transport and Logistics Conference (MARLOG 5) kicked off in the Egyptian coastal city of Alexandria.
The conference is held in cooperation with the International Association of Ports & Harbors (IAPH), Valenciaport Foundation and the Suez Canal Authority under the auspices of Secretary General of the Arab League Nabil el Arabi and Minister of Transport Saad El Geyoushy. The conference, held under the title of "Towards Smart Ports", will host the International Maritime EXPo (IME) attended by local and international companies operating in the maritime transport, logistics, financing, construction and information technology. The conference will address the topic of smart ports and its impact on maritime economy along with the transportation system and logistics industry under the sustainability of ports' green strategies, technology and development in maritime engineering. The conference will be attended by international experts, heads of port authorities, and representatives from leading national and international companies and organizations operating in fields related to maritime industry and logistics. A number of Arab and foreign countries are participating in the event including Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, Tunisia, UAE, Dubai, UK, Panama, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, Sweden, Spain, Djibouti and Nigeria. |
