PM Sherif Ismail headed the meeting of the Economic Ministerial Committee in the presence of the Ministers of Planning, Supply and internal trade, International cooperation, Trade, Industry, Transport, Finance, Public enterprise sector.
Ambassador Hussam Al Kawesh said that in implementing the requirements of the President of Egypt and the need to ensure the availability of food supply to the poor, the ministerial committee agreed to allocate 2.4 billion pounds to increase allocations for food supply on the ration cards starting from 1/6/2016 to coincide with the start of the holy month of Ramadan. It was also mentioned during the meeting on the necessity to start adding the eligible citizens, the newborns, and the purifying the list from those non-beneficiaries. The Ministerial Committee approved the completion of the necessary provisions to receive the cotton crop from farmers for the season 2015 - 2016, within the keenness on the part of the state to provide the necessary support to farmers, and ensure their rights through the achievement of price flat receipt of producers to protect them from the vagaries cotton prices and to determine the prices of Egyptian cotton abroad. This aims to encourage farmers to cultivate this important crop in the light of the availability of the ingredients of this year, particularly the seeds with good specifications and is enough to grow about 500 thousand feddans of cotton. The Economic Ministerial committee agreed in principle to the establishment of Egypt Electricity Holding company contracting with the NE Capital company to promote and cover the subscription and financial consultations of the National Investment Bank, which has considerable experience in this area. The aim of this contract is to achieve a number of goals in the forefront of the restructuring process of the Egyptian Company for Transporting Electricity, and to propose solutions for the financial and economic problems and also to identify the necessary actions to be implemented. In addition to the procedures for the establishment of an Egyptian joint-stock company for electricity stations to counter the workloads of the summer within the urgent plan with a total capacity of the 3632 megawatts, as well as the procedures for the establishment of an Egyptian joint-stock company for the production of electricity for the implementation of the three stations (Beni Suef, Al-Brulus, & the new administrative capital). During the meeting, there was a submission of the proposal for signing a convention to work on implementing a project for a multi-purpose pavement containers from 55 to 62 at Alexandria port, with the Chinese Company Limited for ports (CHEC), within the framework of the state’s plan for port development and to increase its capacity to provide all the services necessary for logistics and ships. |
