President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Kabil.
At the meeting, Kabil reviewed the outcome of his recent visit to Beirut, during which he met with the Lebanese parliament speaker, the prime minister and the economy minister. The minister said that an agreement was reached with the Lebanese side to establish a joint Egyptian-Lebanese company for exporting to Africa. He presented a report on progress in establishing a number of industrial zones in various governorates, which will provide facilitation for the investors and offer more jobs. "About 500,000 meters were allocated to establish an industrial zone in Qwesna," the minister told Sisi. "By the end of this year, more than 10 million meters will be offered to establish industrial zones in Minya and Port Said as well as in the cities of Badr, Sadat and 10th of Ramadan," he added. The minister also presented the progress in a number of national projects, including the establishment of a furniture city in Damietta, a 1,000-factory project in New Cairo and Roubiki Leather City. He also presented ongoing preparations for the regulation of industrial license bill, which aims at reducing the time of giving licenses to be less than 30 days instead of 634. |
