Presidential Assistant for National and Strategic Projects Ibrahim Mahlab said on Friday that the government will keep projects established on seized state-owned lands.
Mahlab, who chairs the committee entrusted with restoring seized state-owned lands, asserted the government has no plan to destroy buildings, sweep away plants or shut down industrial facilities to restore lands seized by individuals from the State. Those who seized these lands would be given the space to legalize their status during a timetable, the ex-prime minister said. He warned that property would be set for sale in auctions if these rules were not respected. The committee was formed under a presidential decree to include the minister of local development, the president’s assistant for security affairs and counter-terrorism and representatives from the ministries of justice, defense and finance and the general intelligence. |
