The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has expressed pride that Islamic Sharia law is its life system and constitution which guarantees an honorable life for its citizens and a prosperous and continuous development for its country.
The Kingdom also said that its vision 2030 embodies a practical guarantee of the keenness of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his prudent government of a better future for the nation and its people at all levels and that the continuing cooperation with the High Commission for Human Rights as per a memorandum of understanding sighed between them including cooperation with all mechanisms of Human Rights Council is yet another evidence of this keenness. This came in a speech delivered by the Kingdom's permanent representative to the United Nations and International Organizations in Geneva Faisal Trad at the opening of the UN Human Rights Council today at the 32nd round which lasts until the first of July 2016. Ambassador Trad reiterated his call to the world community to take the necessary measures to end the world's longest human rights violation in the contemporary history, citing the suffering of the Palestinian people due to the Israeli occupation of their territories for more than 60 years. He also cited Israel's systematic killings, torture, siege, destruction of properties and Al-Quds Jewdaization plan 2020. It is time that Israeli be held accountable for brutal war crimes against the Palestinian people, he said, adding that the world community's Israel-Palestinian-related several resolutions be enforced to achieve the aspirations of the Palestinian people in independence, liberty, and establishment of a sovereign independent state with Al-Quds as capital, Trad said. He enquired to when the world community would remain passive towards the daily five-year-long sufferings of the Syrian people and for how long it would be unable to take a tangible and practical step to stop bloodshed and protect children and women from all kinds of violations committed by Al-Assad regime and the other terrorist organizations as well as pro-Assad foreign troops, leading to the killing of more than 300,000 and displacement of more than half the Syrian people. He demanded bringing before the international justice those who raided the Syrian city of Halab and the surroundings resulting in the martyrdom of hundreds of women and children and the destruction of medical centers and residential areas. He announced that Saudi Arabia has recently extended a 100,000 Swiss Franc worth of financial contribution to the High Commission for Human Rights to conduct documentation of human rights violations in Syria. He reiterated Saudi Arabia's demand to bring the culprits who committed war crimes in Syria before international justice on one hand and provide enough support for the moderate opposition and protect the Syrian immigrants and refugees on the other. He reiterated Saudi Arabia's condemnation of terrorism in all its forms regardless of its justifications, calling on the world community to work to eradicate the circumstances that help grow the seeds of terrorism and spread them all over the world. He said Saudi Arabia was a fore-runner country against terrorism, citing its endeavor to form an anti-terror Islamic military coalition which has so far attracted 35 countries. In conclusion, ambassador Trad said that one of the most important principles in which the Kingdom believes is its call that globalization of human rights would never mean imposing the principles, values and cultures contrary to our values, cultures and Islamic religion. Accordingly, we call for the respect of difference in values and cultures to reflect the notion of globalization of human rights, he added. |
