![]() The Egyptian-Chinese ministerial committee meeting will convene in Beijing in July to endorse final list of cooperation projects.
Trade and Industry Minister Tareq Qabil is due in China by the beginning of July to review cooperation projects. Qabil attended the signing of the minutes of the second meeting of the Egyptian-Chinese working group concerned with following up high-priority projects. The group's meeting took place in Cairo over the past two days as the two sides discussed the progress achieved in nearly 15 projects under a framework agreement in the fields of infrastructure, energy, health and transport. Chairman of the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS) Ali el Leithy and the vice chairman of the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) signed the meeting's minutes. The working group discussed a number of new projects, including the establishment of government buildings at the new administrative capital and drainage projects, Qabil said. It also tackled several projects that will be reviewed during the minister's visit of China early next month. Qabil said he will participate in meetings of the trade ministers of the G20 in China in advance of the G20 Summit, which is slated for September 4 and 5. Among the projects discussed by the group was one on building a coal-fueled power station and another on increasing the capacity of Ataqa power plant to produce 2,400 megawatts, he said. |
