 The Industrial Development Authority (IDA) issued approvals for the establishment of 180 new projects in the industrial zones and new cities at a total cost of EGP 3 billions.
The projects cover nine different industrial sectors and will secure 9,000 job opportunities, according to a report prepared by the IDA. The report, sent to Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabil, touched on the indicators of the industrial sector’s performance in June 2016. The approved projects covered 23 governorates, topped by Sharqia with 46 projects, Giza came second with 27 projects and Cairo occupied the third place with 17 projects, the report said. As many as 85 investors received approvals in June 2016 for expanding their industrial facilities with a total investment of EGP 2 billion against 83 investors who got approvals in the same period of the 2015 to expand their industrial facilities with a total investment of EGP 3.2 billion, the report added. |
