 President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Suez Canal revenues were up by 4 percent last year.
Sisi interrupted a speech of Suez Canal Authority Chairman Mohab Mameesh during the 1st new Suez Canal anniversary saying that although it would take years even until 2023 to realize the maximum Suez Canal fees for which the decision was taken to dig the new Suez Canal. He added that some people expected that the international trade stagnation and the economic slump would negatively affect the Suez Canal revenues. Sisi added that there are people who would raise aspersions about any achievement to dash hope. |
