 About 112,000 feddans in Farfra, Moghra and Toshka will be put out to tender next month within the framework of the 1.5 million feddan project, said Minister of Agriculture Essam Fayed.
The minister's statements came during a meeting with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi who said the 1.5 million feddan project is one of the most important mega development projects. Sisi, according to presidential spokesman Alaa Yousef, underlined the importance of proceeding with the national food project under which 100,000 greenhouses would be set up. The President highlighted the importance of establishing agro-manufacturing units to be an added value to the crops. During the meeting, Fayed reviewed the outcome of his recent European tour which included Hungary, Netherlands and Spain to stand on the European expertise in establishing developed greenhouses. Fayed noted that training sessions will be organized for farmers to spread awareness among them on new marketing mechanisms. |
