Capital Markets Authority (CMA) signed an agreement for cooperation with the Chartered Institute for Securities Investment (CISI), a London-based professional body that caters to employees of the financial and investment industry.
The agreement comes as a follow-up to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between both sides in January 2015, a statement by CMA noted. Moreover, the agreement consists of various programs to prop up transactions in the financial sector through increased efficiency in the market, the statement added. Furthermore, the agreement will buoy CMA's aspirations of becoming a bastion of investment that provides an environment conducive to growth and development, the statement said, adding that the signing of the agreement was attended by Chairman of the CMA Board of Commissioners Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf, along with other senior officials. Formed by way of an edict in 2010, the CMA regulates activities in the capital market and protects investors from potential fraudulent and illicit processes. CISI is a professional body well-versed in issues germane to securities and investment, as it boasts a highly adept workforce. |
